This is part of a shoot I was lucky enough to grab while we had a couple of days of snow in England, by the very talented [link].
I made Elrond for the finals of the Eurocosplay international cosplay competition in London 2012.
It's all hand made, from the 14,000 hand-woven chainmail rings, to a hand sculpted and resin cast Hadhafang sword. Took approx 5 months, and by the end of it I had quite a love/hate relationship with this costume!
Eurocosplay is a European cosplay competition that is mark 80% on costume craft and 20% on performance, with 2 representatives chosen to represent each country in the final. I was lucky enough to be a part of it in 2012!
I love this shot. The costume really suits a snowy woodland setting. The muted colours provide camouflage whilst the chainmail and the gold shimmer giving the image an unguarded feel.
